Miguel Torres’ next fight at WEC 51
made official; tickets on sale Thursday
Jul 27, 2010 | by MattE | No Comments
Miguel Torres, the WEC’s former bantamweight champion, will get back in the cage Sept. 30 hoping to snap a two-fight losing streak when he faces Charlie Valencia.
The WEC on Monday made official WEC 51: Aldo vs. Gamburyan at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colo., just north of Denver. Torres lost his 135-pound title last August to Brian Bowles at WEC 40. At WEC 47 in March, he was choked out by Joseph Benavidez. Torres told Caged In earlier this month that the back-to-back losses were because he tried to change his style – but he won’t make that mistake this time.
“I’m looking to come back and use my old style and stay aggressive and just beat the (crap) out of people,” Torres said.
