After two successful UFC Fan Expo events in Las Vegas, the promotion will host its first fan event on the East Coast in conjunction with UFC 118 in Boston on Aug. 27-28.

The UFC’s first two Fan Expos took place at UFC 100 in July 2009 and UFC 114 in May. On Wednesday, the organization announced some of the fighters who will be participating in autograph sessions and other fan events at the John B. Hynes Convention Center.

UFC 118 will be the promotion’s debut in Massachusetts, which recently passed mixed martial arts legislation. The card will be headlined by a lightweight title fight rematch between champion Frankie Edgar and former champion BJ Penn. Edgar dethroned Penn, becoming just the second fighter to beat him at 155 pounds, with a unanimous decision victory at UFC 112 in April. The co-main event features the MMA debut of three-time world champion boxer James Toney against UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture.

Scheduled to make appearances at the Fan Expo in Boston are: Middleweight champion Anderson Silva, UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell, UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, WEC lightweight champion Ben Henderson, WEC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz, former UFC light heavyweight champions Forrest Griffin, and Tito Ortiz, Carlos Condit, Chicagoland native Clay Guida, Cole Miller, Efrain Escudero, Gabriel Gonzaga, Jon Jones, Josh Grispi, Kurt Pellegrino, Matt Hamill, Martin Kampmann, Pat Barry, Roy Nelson, Thiago Alves, Anthony Johnson, Ricardo Almeida, Renzo Gracie and former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber.

And more fighters are expected to be announced before the event.

UFC 118 takes place at TD Garden on Aug. 28. Tickets for the Fan Expo can be purchased at ufcfanexpo.com.
