Duneland Vale Tudo lightweight Josh Shockley has signed on to fight Chicagoan Mark Miller for the Bellator Fighting Championships.

The bout will be part of the local preliminary card for Bellator 25, which will take place at the Chicago Theatre on Aug. 19. Bellator is based in Chicago and this will be the promotion’s third fight card in its home city.

Shockley was booked for his debut with the promotion for Bellator 14 in April, but had to withdraw due to an injury he suffered in training with teammate Darren Elkins, who makes his second UFC appearance on Sunday.

Shockley (6-0-1) told The Times on Tuesday that missing his April fight was disappointing, but he’s healed and ready..

“It took me about eight weeks to get over it,” Shockley said. “Having to pull out of the (April) fight really sucked, but I got over it. I’m only 20 years old, so big fights will come and go.”
